Never Judge a Book by Its Cover Is So PasseMy love of the moment comes in the form of a 601 paged paper-back monster known as the 2002 Centennial Edition of John Steinbeck’s “East of Eden.” And while content ultimately rules, I can’t help but be drawn to the gorgeous antiqued detailing on the cover and the uneven parchment pages. It makes a gal like myself, who is always drawn into the visual aesthetics of life, happy to tote around a book so big every single day.

Orange Dulce by Mighty LeafThis is a delicious blend of black tea, orange, vanilla, and jasmine. I began to keep tea at my office and find it to be a very delightful moment in my work day. |
Sushi
There’s something strangely sensual about eating raw fish...

Loco Lu's CoffeehouseLoco Lu’s is a new family-owned coffeehouse in the Oak Park shopping center in Raleigh (www.locolu.com). Its owners, Lu and Janice and their kids, are as friendly as can be. The place is funky in the best sense, with overstuffed couches, original art on the walls, and kites hanging from the ceiling. Best of all, they support local artists, writers, and musicians and feature their work in the store. I’m not a coffee drinker, but the tea and pastries are wonderful! |
ShinyThis is the best topcoat I’ve every tried – and I’ve tried them all. It leaves your nails super-shiny and it protects your color from chipping. Every girl should have it. |
