Hi There! (otherwise known as getting to know me)

Thursday, May, 22, 2008

This is a little awkward.....you don’t know me, I don’t really know you, so let me give you a brief introduction and we’ll just jump off and go from there!

My name is, obviously, Renee. Here’s the short version:

  • Almost 36 year old
  • I love to write and have been writing about my life and thoughts online now since February 1997.
  • Divorced. Twice. Better news: Engaged now to someone who isn’t crazy. Always a plus!
  • mother of 3 kids (ages 19, 15, & 9)
  • a certified scuba diver
  • an avid reader
  • a Mac product loving fool (just try and pry my Nano out of my hands!)
  • a music lover (no screamo, gospel, thrash or stuff like that though)
  • a web designer with my own business
  • an internet manager for a small local newspaper (over 8 years now) where I work at their office three days a week and telecommute from home the other two days. It can be .... INTERESTING. Let’s just leave it at that.

Those are the basics.

I usually write 2 – 5 times per week and sometimes it is a one sentence entry and other times, it could be considered a short story in length. *ahem* Especially, if I happen to be up on one of my various soap boxes.

I write about my life which includes my thoughts, observations (rush hour in Raleigh really sucks!), kids (I am not one of those Mom’s that think their kids are apple pie perfect), lots of music recommendations, movies and books I’ve seen and read, things that piss me off, things that make me think, and sometimes just STUFF. Random stuff.

I also write exactly like I talk. Oh. And I’m not originally from North Carolina. I’m a Damn Yankee (one that won’t go home). Originally haling from upstate north western Pennsylvania, the great frozen tundra. *brrrrrrr* I love North Carolina but most of all, I love the weather.

I still consider myself new to Raleigh, I moved up here from rural Sampson County last August. I’m still adjusting. But I DO love this city!

If you’re reading or just found me for the first time: in the immortal words of one of my favorite people: Thanx for being here!

And may I also say, thanks to skirt!

One of the BEST and most interesting publications to become available to women in YEARS. Wonderful. Love it and am proud to be able to blog on their site!

So, thanks for joining a life already in progress! Hang on, it’s going to be a fun ride!
