


London-bred Connally didn’t choose soccer – it chose him. “In England, that’s what everyone did. Football players were pretty much your heroes, and that’s what you wanted to be – that type of superstar.”
A long career on both sides of the Atlantic has led 29-year-old Connally to the Triangle, where he’s a forward USL’s Carolina RailHawks. So, how’s he finding the US soccer scene in comparison to footie-mad England? “It’s getting there. Bringing [well-known] players like David Beckham in helps – not just the LA Galaxy but all of soccer.”
What’s the best thing about wearing a skirt? “My favorite thing is that I felt comfortable, and didn’t feel undermined in it.”
What’s the best thing about reading skirt!? “It’s good for men, because we can’t seem to figure women out.”
