Susan Paolucci

"Art is a word that has so many different interpretations. For some a piece of art conveys a sense of whimsy, while for others it takes them back to another time and place in their lives. As an artist I often try to capture that sense of emotion, for it is in that emotion that one is able to celebrate the seasons of the soul. Art is not for just one's self, nor is it a marker for just one person's understanding; rather I see art as a map for those who follow after us."

This month's cover artist says that "as an artist my life has stayed quite busy over the past 20 or so years, and the one thing that continues to inspire me is being able to create such beautiful memories for my clients to cherish."

Susan Paolucci's work has been displayed in a number of galleries in Jacksonville, as well as in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. Her art has also found a place in many private collections throughout the Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra area. Susan specializes in pencil, watercolor, and oil paintings. I don't know who the model for this particular piece was, but it is a great looking portrait. It's a modern Mother Earth, a goddess for today.
