Miranda Laughlin | Designing Woman

Miranda’s resume reads like a Who’s Who of the fashion industry.  While studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, she interned with Cynthia Rowley and modeled for Zac Posen and Roberto Cavalli.  After her 2005 graduation, she landed a gig as head designer for Sweet Robin, a line owned by Mandie Erickson of The Fashionista Diaries fame.  “I learned so much there, but if you know anything about Mandie, you know she’s very difficult to work for.”  After a year of designing and modeling, often working 120 hours a week, Miranda was in the mood for something different.  “I was ready for a change, to come back to my roots, and rest.”  She returned to Raleigh, her hometown, and started her own clothing line, called Bleighm.  Pieces from her 2008 lines were featured earlier this year at STRUT 08, a fashion event at North Hills.
